Dermal Filler
What To Know
What is a dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, or enhance facial contours. They can be used in many ways, including reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, creating structure, and adding volume to the face, adding volume to the lips, lifting the cheeks, decreasing the appearance of dark under eyes, and giving an overall rested appearance.
What areas can be treated?

The common areas of treatment include lips, smile lines (nasolabial folds), downturned corners of the mouth (oral commissures), marionette lines (corner of mouth to chin), cheeks, jawline, and chin.
Is there any downtime after treatment?

For the most part, you can resume your normal activities immediately following dermal filler. However, it is crucial to avoid the following:
-No raising body temperature for 24 hours (no exercise, hot tubs, saunas, sun exposure, etc.)
-No touching or manipulating the area for 48 hours (for lips, no straws, smoking, or excessive lip activity)
-No makeup for the rest of the day after the treatment but face can be washed about 4 hours
*Since bruising may occur, it is best to schedule treatment 2-4 weeks prior to any special event
*No travel for 48 hours after treatment in case of complications
Will I see results immediately?

Yes! Please note that the treated area will be swollen which should reduce over the next 48-72 hours. Please be patient.
How long do the effects last?

Every patient and every filler is different, but you can expect the results to last 6 months to 2 years.
